Is Peek-a-Boo Tucking a Do?

Catching up on some light housework last night, I found myself sifting through an unstable stack of forgotten magazines. The avalanche was inevitable. But that was just fine ~ because I finally found my missing InStyle March edition. Hooray!

Once I’d sorted the mess, I sat down to relax and began scanning the pages of InStyle. Page after page was filled with wonderful Spring colors and trends (many of which are noted to the right on our current Spring Trend Poll for 2012).

Then, about halfway in, I noticed a new styling technique ~ or one new to me, anyway. I have no idea what the pros are calling it; but I’m calling it the “Peek-a-Boo Tuck.”  An extra-long shirttail is tucked into a skirt and pulled through to hang below the hemline.

I’m not sure if I like this trend. It’s bold. But I think it reads a bit “trashy” when the shirt is paired with a short skirt. I went back through the issue and culled these two images to share on little blog. What do you think?

Is the "Peek-a-Boo Tuck" a do or a don't?

Update!

    It looks unkempt and unfinished!

Yeah, count me in with those who think it just looks sloppy.

    Whoa. That’s a don’t for me. Not a fan.

  4. Anushka says

I don’t like it at all. It just looks weird! I’m not sure anyone could pull that off in real life.

M’kay, my 15yo daughter just took a look at this and exclaimed. “Eew!”

    ‘Nuff said
