Addicted to Bling

Is there a 12-step program for jewelry addiction?  Because I should really, really, really be in it ~ and totally working the steps.

While I openly admit that I am powerless over my addiction to jewelry and that my accessories have become unmanageable (Step One), I cannot seem to stop collecting sparkly things.

I won’t tell you that I went back to Belk (again).  Or that I scored two more pieces of Fossil jewelry (in addition to the two pieces of Fossil I picked up last month).  But I will confess to a quick side trip to Dillard’s ~ my reward for enduring a thoroughly unpleasant errand.

I’ll spare you the details of that errand.  You’re welcome.  But understand that retail therapy was both justified and vital to sanity.  I self-medicated with exactly 20 minutes of mall time.

I went to Dillard’s, directly to Dillard’s, where I cruised the shoes, bags and makeup en route to jewelry.  My personal mojo ~ woefully absent for the duration of the previous exploit ~ was back, baby.  Accessories were on sale!

The bargains were plentiful.  And I went to my happy place.  These are the sweet little souvenirs I brought back:

Betsey Johnson "Lovebirds" Necklace (Originally $48; on sale for $11.76)

Jessica Simpson Pearl Stretch Bracelet (Originally $48, on sale for $11.76)

While on this curative excursion, a chance encounter with my favorite Sales Clerk, Kelli Leach (aka Shoe Girl), proved not just pleasant but educational.

Kelli revealed that the end of the month is the best time to shop at Dillard’s.

Select departments offer deep, deep discounts during that final week, with markdowns up to 75% off original pricing.  ~ Nobody knows which departments will start slashing prices until the day before.

Bonus:  Dillard card holders can shop a day early (the last Wednesday of the month), getting first dibs on the best stuff!  The public at large is invited to shop Thursday through Saturday.

  1. Adorable! I’ve surrendered and have stopped resisting my own obsession with anything Jessica Simpson.

I am not alone, I am not alone…. OOH! SPARKLY!

    (Sweet lovebirds!)

Oh, no, Fluffy Cow, you are NOT alone! I’ve been on an unbelievable rings and bracelets spree for the past year or so. Last week I had to stash two new rings in my lingerie drawer because my jewelry box was full. Which did not stop me from buying a new bracelet today.

I have a great idea: Let’s ENABLE each other! Yeah!!!

In the spirit of enabling, might I share this fabulous storage solution?

There are also individual trays that you can add to the set. The 3 alone fits beautifully into a drawer and works as a superb addition to a main jewelry box!

    Suh-weet.
