The Continuing Adventures of Shoe Girl

ShoeGirlFull11Volume 3, Chapter 2  Keepin’ It Cool

One definition of carnival is “an exciting or riotous mixture of something.” Let me tell you, Shoe Carnival is a perfect embodiment of that definition!

In addition to the huge selection, Shoe Carnival also has amazing prices. With each of this summer’s featured picks being on sale for under $30 (I KNOW!), I threw in two additional shoes just for fun.  You’ll definitely be able to keep it cool this summer with any of these picks.

Kaya’s “Betty” stopped me almost instantly upon walking into the store.

I love bows, but I also love the look of the chunky heel. It’s more practical than a stiletto, but still offers height. This heel is just shy of 5″, with a platform height of 1″ and is a great way to dress up some skinny jeans or your LBD. Available in Black and Fuscia. Regular: $39.99 (check online for sale prices)

Looking for a casual but very pretty sandal to pair with shorts, skirts, capris, or sundresses? Italian Shoemakers “Poppy-I” is perfect!

There is a small wedge heel, and tons of cushion. There are options for brightly colored flowers, as well as more muted, neutral toned flowers. There are also rhinestones to add some sparkle to your summer! Available in Choclate, Navy Multi, and Natural Multi. Regular: $44.99 (check online for sale prices)

Poppy

Y-not’s “Serena” is a gorgeous shoe in nothing but neutral. The 5″ linen platform wedge is casual, flirty and perfect for keeping summer cool.

Two-tone leather straps in beige and brown will work with practically any colors in your wardrobe. Available in Beige/Cognac. Regular: $39.99 (check online for sale prices)

Serena

For a more practical wedge, “Sierra” by Solanz is your best bet. The 2 1/4″ stacked wedge will make anything possible, including running errands or an afternoon with friends.

The understated metal studs and weaving straps are fun, while a zipper in the back adds simple functionality. Available in Black and Brown. Regular: $44.99 (check online for sale prices)

Sierra

The first bonus pick this month is a simple flip flop. Everyone needs a basic summer flip flop, and as appealing as a $2.00 pair from Old Navy might sound, I recommend spending a little more for quality.

Nike has a large selection, but I was drawn to the Solarsoft Thong2. In addition to the super soft sole, there is also a harder outsole for durability.

There are tons of color options, too! Available in Anthracite, Crystal Mint, Fruit Punch, Khaki, White/Black, Black, Deep Royal Blue, Hyper Red/White, and Magenta. Regular: $22.00

The bonus pick that I am most excited about is this “Adrina” flat from Crocs. It took me back to the jelly shoes I had as a kid ~ the ones I lived in!

These Crocs, as usual, are super light weight and have the Croslite circulation nubs for comfort. The TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) upper is like silicone, so it’s soft and comfortable. Available in Candy Pink/Iris and Black. Regular: $39.99 (check online for sale prices)

Whether you’re going out in a wedge or staying comfy with some simple sandals, enjoy the summer!
