The Continuing Adventures of Shoe Girl

Volume 2, Chapter 3
Get Your Kicks with these Fall Picks

It’s back-to-school time; TV shows are premiering; and political ads are in full swing.

I know you just scooped up a sweet new pair of sandals on the cheap, but fall will be here in no time!

Never fear!  I went shopping at my local Shoe Dept. Encore and there are plenty of cute shoes for the new season ~ and plenty of sweet bargains.

Journeys’ SHI “Poxy” Pin-Up Pumps ($29)

But before I made it to The Shoe Dept., I was (obviously) distracted by these lovely heels.

These “Poxy” SHI by Journeys pumps are flirty with chic rouching at the toe.  This shoe screams “pin-up” and is reminiscent of the sexy vintage style that’s currently trending.

The 4 1/2 inch heel may make them impractical, but the platform makes them practically perfect.

Plus, it’ll cost you less money for these shoes than it would to gas up your car!  Available in Black/White.  $29.99

So I made it to Shoe Dept. Encore and was immediately drawn to the boots.  Cowboy boots are a classic.  They put a fun twang in your step and are great with jeans or casual dresses.

Laredo 51094 Cowboy Boots ($99)

These “Cowboy” boots from Laredo are authentic, and have a great western stitch detail.

Laredo prides itself on comfort and functionality, and stays true to the rough and tough lifestyle of a cowboy.

There is a durable leather upper, a soft fabric lining, and pull straps on both sides.  Available in Tan and Black.   $99.99  (Check out bootbarn.com for more great styles!)

Fergalicious “Ariel Glitter” Ballet Flats ($29)

I’m always a sucker for a simple pair of ballet flats.  Add some sparkle?  Oh, yes please.

These “Ariel Glitter” flats by Fergalicious are adorable.  What CAN’T you wear them with?

They’re great to slip on and go with jeans, or use them as your main accessory with a skirt and leggings as the weather cools.

The lightly padded footbed and rounded toe make for a comfortable wear as well.  Available in Black.  $29.99

Check out this cutie bootie!

Hot Cakes “Lazer” Bootie ($15)

Hot Cakes “Lazer” goes great with the ever-present skinny jean trend, but can also be nicely worn with your favorite boot cut jeans.

Not quite over summer?  Pair it with a sundress for a casual, comfy look.

Available in Black, Brown, and Gray.  $24.98, on sale for 14.98!

It’s still late summer, so fall styles are only trickling into the stores.  But over the next few weeks prepare to be bombarded with more awesome styles like these!  Once the days start to get shorter, you’ll need a pick-me-up anyway ~ and what’s better than a new pair of shoes?!

See you in a few months when I’m back with winter picks!

Shoe Girl’s Alter Ego, Kelli Leach

Kelli is actually a crazy cat lady, but with fun fashion sense.

She recently broke out of the retail business and is now an Event Sales Administrator at PLI in Asheville, NC.  Luckily, her love for shoes is innate, and she is excited about bringing you shoes from a wider range of retailers.

She never misses an episode of Modern Family.

In her spare time she enjoys writing, ballet and belly dancing, zumba, and trying new adventures such as parasailing, dirtbike riding, and zipline-ing.

The words she lives by?  “Hakuna Matata.”

Glitter flats? *sigh* How sweet… I’ll have to keep an eye out!

  2. Lisa says

I am liking those sparkly flats, too!

  3. Cat says

You know, I have lived in Texas since just before my tenth birthday and I have never owned a pair of cowboy boots. I should probably rectify that situation ASAP, and those look like a perfect starter pair!
